Resistances on Metal Stamping Industry
Experts estimate that with the largest user market of metal stamping – auto industry highly developing, metal stamping industry in China has already ushered an opportunity of highly development while resistances still exist. 
 
Low mechanization and automation
The U.S. has 680 metal stamping lines and 70% are multi-station punch. Japan has 250 metal stamping lines and 32% are multi-station punch. However, the punch which stands for the advanced level around the world is less used in China. Equipment in medium or small enterprises commonly falls behind, having high energy consumption and pollution. Head forming equipment also fell behind. Manual operation has high proportion. Fine-blanking press has high price, 5~10 times of common punch. Most of enterprises cannot afford the investment so that fine blanking cannot be popularized. Hydraulic forming, especially internal high pressure forming requires large investments on equipment. It is hard to be started in China. 
 
Low production concentration
Many auto manufacturers are large and overall, forming closed internal supporting which cause that every enterprise has various categories of metal stamping, having low production concentration and small scale. It can easily cause low level repeated construction and cannot meet the requirements of specialized division of production. Market competitiveness is weak. Motorcycle metal stamping industry is facing with drastic market competitiveness. However, high quality cannot win the competition and poor quality cannot be eliminated. 
 
Insufficient self-sufficiency 
At present, China can only make out about 60% of auto sheets. Sheets used for luxurious auto, such as high strength steel, alloying galvanized sheet and ultra-wide sheet still depend on import.
